Conservation Of Francis Light Statue

On the 30th June 2020, a complaint was lodged on a statue that was vandalized with red paint. It was the Francis Light Statue, and the Penang State Museum has been tasked to restore the statue back to its original form.

The action that has been taken by the LMNPP is to carry out cleaning work and consider the condition and the surrounding area for follow-up action to conserve the statue. In addition, this area for follow-up action to conserve the statue. In addition, this conservation process has received expert views from the Conservation Unit of the Department of Museums Malaysia on the appropriate methods and materials to be used for the work. The installation of scaffolding around the monument is to facilitate the process of conservation work carried out.
