As the new chairperson of the Penang State Museum Board, I am honoured to be elected and it is my greatest hope to spearhead the arts & culture scene through the museum’s platform.
In 2018, I have been selected to be the chairperson of the Penang State Museum Board to replace Y.B Lim Guan Eng, as he was elected to become the Finance Minister of Malaysia. I hereby vow to always uphold the values of the state museum
Apart from that, I will also ensure that the museum plays a vital role in raising awareness to instil love towards our heritage through permanent or semi-permanent exhibitions organized by the staffs from the Penang State Museum & Art Gallery. Various programmes and art exhibitions have been held by LMNPP all year long.
These programmes are done in order to instil love and a sense of belonging to our national heritage and local cultures in every social fabric of life, especially to our younger generation. All these activities are held successfully by the staffs of LMNPP. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of them for putting the effort in order to uphold the motto of LMNPP which is “Museum education for All”
Lastly, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Penang State Museum Board and the community members of the Penang Art Gallery for their dedication and unwavering support to the management staffs of LMNPP. And not to forget, congratulations to the management staffs of LMNPP for getting the BEST award for the BEST booth (Historical Heritage Category) in conjunction with the International Museum Day 2019 held in Sabah State Museum.
