Nanyang Reverie : A Tribute to Tan Thean Song’s Ink and Batik Legacy

Nanyang Abadi Exhibition: The Ink and Batik Art Legacy of Tan Thean Song
will be held at Level 3 Gallery, Penang State Art Gallery from 3rd to 15th May 2025.

Artist Tan Thean Song (1946–2017) was a distinguished art scholar who received his education at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, under the guidance of renowned art masters such as Cheong Soo Pieng. He skillfully combined traditional Chinese ink painting techniques with local Nanyang cultural elements to create a unique art style. His batik works are known for their vibrant colors and dynamic lines, while his Chinese ink paintings are rich with Eastern aesthetic values and the ambiance of Nanyang.

The official opening ceremony of the exhibition is scheduled as follows:
