Highlights of "Pakat-Pakat Mai Muzium" Activities

Alhamdulillah dan syukur ke hadrat Ilahi kerana dengan keizinan-Nya, program "PAKAT-PAKAT MAI MUZIUM" berlangsung dengan jayanya. Jom kita ikuti perkembangan program ini dengan lebih lanjut.....

1) “Silent Explorace”

 

                                            

Tujuan “Silent Explorace” diadakan adalah untuk mengalu-alukan penyertaan orang awam yang kurang upaya, terutama mereka yang hilang deria pendengaran. Penyertaan juga dibuka kepada orang ramai tetapi dengan syarat mereka juga tidak dibenarkan bersuara sepanjang “Explorace” berlangsung. Hasil daripada maklum balas peserta mereka berasa amat seronok dan berpuas hati dengan “Silent Explorace” ini.

Sebanyak 13 kumpulan yang terdiri daripada pelbagai kaum dan peringkat umur telah menyertai “Silent Explorace” yang julung-julung kalinya diadakan. Bermula dari 8.00 pagi, peserta telah berkumpul untuk pendaftaran. Para peserta diberi sarapan pagi secara percuma oleh pihak urusetia. Kemudian, tarian poco-poco disemat bersama-sama sebagai pemanas badan sebelum “Silent Explorace” bermula.

Pada jam 9.00 pagi, Puan Haryany Bt Mohamad, Kurator Muzium Negeri Pulau Pinang telah meniup wisel sebagai tanda perlumbaan bermula. Peserta ke destinasi seterusnya mengikut petunjuk arah yang diberikan. Terdapat 9 “check point” yang perlu dilalui oleh peserta dan mereka perlu menjawab kesemua soalan di setiap “check point” tersebut. 

Perlumbaan tamat pada jam 12.00 tengah hari dan acara penyampaian hadiah dijalankan pada jam 2.30 petang. Hadiah berupa wang tunai, hamper dan sijil-sijil disampaikan oleh Yang Berhormat Wong hon Wai, Pengerusi Lembaga Muzium Negeri Pulau Pinang.

Silent Explorace

The purpose of "Silent Explorace" is to welcome the participation of the public with disabilities, especially those who have lost the sense of hearing. Participation is also open to the public but with the condition that they are not allowed to speak during the progress of "Explorace". As a result of participant feedback, they had a great time and they are satisfied with the "Silent Explorace".

                                                  

It was the first time ever held such an activity in this 47 years established of Museum, a total of 13 groups of various races and ages have participated in "Silent Explorace". Starting at 8:00 am, participants gathered for registration. The participants were given a free breakfast by the secretariat. Then, a dance known as poco-poco studded together as a warm up before the began of "Silent Explorace".

At 9.00 am, Puan. Haryany Bt Mohamad, the Penang State Museum Curator has been blowing the whistle as a mark of the race starts. Participants towards to the next destination in accordance with directions given. There are 9 "check points" that must be pass through by the participants and they must answer all the questions in each "check point".

The race ends on 12.00 noon and prize giving ceremony was conducted at 2.30 pm. Cash vouchers, hampers and certificates presented by the Yang Berhormat Tuan Wong Hon Wai, Chairman of the Penang State Museum.

                                                            

                                                    

2) “Outdoor Sketching”

                                     

Lebih kurang 27 pelajar dari pelbagai institusi pendidikan di Pulau Pinang telah menyertai “Outdoor Sketching” yang bermula jam 10.00 pagi hingga 12.00 tengah hari. Mereka membuat lakaran apa jua artifak atau sudut pameran yang terdapat di dalam atau di luar perkarangan muzium. Karya-karya pelajar ini telah dipamerkan di ruangan yang disediakan selama satu bulan.

                                   
About 27 students from various educational institutions in Penang has joined Outdoor Sketching which began at 10.00 am  until 12.00 noon. They made sketches of artifacts or any corner of the exhibition either inside or outside the museum. The participant artworks /sketches were exhibited in the space provided at museum  for a month.

 

3) Mencuba pakaian tradisional

                                 

Wah, ramai sungguh pelancong asing dan para pelawat yang mencuba pakaian tradisional yang disediakan. Acara ini yang bersempena dengan Hari Festival Georgetown, sangat menarik perhatian pelancong terutama pelancong dari luar negara. Mereka sangat teruja mencuba pakaian tradisional tempatan.  Apabila mereka menggayakan pakaian yang dicuba, kegembiraan terpancar di wajah mereka ketika mereka bergambar dengan pelbagai aksi yang mencuit hati. Sesi ini diselia oleh warga kerja muzium yang bertugas dengan membimbing mereka cara mengikat samping Melayu, kain batik, kain pelikat, sari dan sebagainya.

                                           

Trying Traditional Costums

Wow, so many foreign tourists and visitors try our traditional costumes that has been provided. This event is in conjunction with Georgetown Day Festival, it is very interesting among tourists, especially tourists from abroad. They are very excited to try the local traditional costumes. When they attempted the costumes, their faces were radiating with joy while they were also posing with various actions which can influence the heart. These sessions are supervised by museum staffs by guiding the tourists the methods to tie up Malay batik and sarong as well as saree and so on.

 

4) Sireh Junjung

                             

Sireh Junjung adalah suatu gubahan yang sangat cantik dan menarik. Sesiapa sahaja boleh mencuba untuk menggubah Sireh Junjung. Mereka yang berminat untuk menggubah dibantu oleh jurugubah yang berkemahiran. Walaupun kebanyakkan mereka baru pertama mencuba dan melihat Sireh Junjung ini, mereka tidaklah begitu kekok menggubahnya. Lihatlah hasil kerja tangan mereka.

Untuk makluman, demonstrasi Sireh Junjung masih berlangsung di Muzium Lebuh Farquhar pada setiap hari Sabtu dan Ahad sepanjang bulan Julai. Demonstrasi ini bermula pada jam 10.00 pagi hingga 12.00 tengah hari dan bagi sesi kedua, pada jam 2.00 petang hingga 4.00 petang.

Betel Trellis

                                 

Betel Trellis is a very beautiful and interesting composition . Anyone can try to compose Betel Trellis. Visitors who wish to compose was assisted by a skilled facilitator. Although it was a first-try for most of them, they were not so awkward to compose the betel trellis. Look at the handicrafts /artworks by the visitors.

For your kind information, demonstration of Betel Trellis is still going on at the Penang State Museum of Farquhar Street every Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month of July. The demonstration will began at 10.00 am until 12.00 noon while the second session is at 2.00 pm until 4.00 pm.
